I came to US on H4 and have my visa stamped for H4-Visa till APr 2008 and have I-94 for H4 visa also valid till Apr 2008.
This year I had applied for H1 visa and got it approved but didt not have I-94 along with it.
1. Is it possible to apply for SSN , based on I-797 and Prev. I-94?
2. Since I dont have new I-94 (for H1) so does that mean that my status is not changed and I am still on H4?
3. If I dont work here and also dont apply for SSN in this situation , am I leagally staying here in US?
4. Is it OK to go out of US and get new I-94 for H1 on this apprpval whenever I want to and untill than I can be on H4?
Please advise if you have idea about this.
