H4 TO H1 versus B1 TO H1

Dear All

Please advise,

Q1. Is the procedure/paperwork any different for a B1 -> H1B transfer vs a H4 -> H1B transfer.

Q2. Are there any advantages/risks for a B1 visa over a H4 (or vice versa) when it comes to a eventual H1B transfer? I know B1 only grants limited stay in the US, but if its easier to get on H1B from this visa, then I can try to extend B1.

Q3. Once my H1B petition is approved, can I join the employer immediately and start working without having to leave the country even though I enter on a B1/H4 into US?

I am a graduate in commerce from India and pursuing CPA studies.

1) pretty much the same.
2) H4 to H1 is less troubling than B to H1.
3) You can start working only after H1 approved AND H1 start date reached.
If you don't want to get stamp, file it with change of status.
