H4 to H1 transfer and starting work in US

Hi

I have one question regarding a candidate who is getting her H4 visa trasnferred to H1. The candidate is currently in the US on H4 visa.


1. Once the H1 petition is approved (from October 1 2006) can she start working in the US or does she need to go to her home country and get a VISA stamped on her passport before she can commence work here.

If she get I539 approved as well as H1 petition, she does not need visa as long as she stays in the US.
