H4 to F1

Hai, I am a student in US on H4 visa. Now i want to change my visa to F1 and i am not planning to go outside US any soon.
1. Can i change my status and legally stay here in US without stamping or do i have to get F1 stamped?
2. My husband has filed for Greencard and its in first stage also my name is not included in the proceedings yet. Will it be a problem to change my status?
3. I understand that if my F1 is accepted my H4 validity expires but in case F1 is not issued what happens to the validity of H4? Can i continue with my present H4 or should i reapply for H4?

LC stage? Not a problem.

if your application is rejected, you continue being in H4 status for as long as it is valid. Better talk to your husband's lawyer, just in case.
