H4 to F1 Notice of Approval issue

Hi,

I applied for a change of status from H4 to F1. I received a letter from INS saying that change of status was approved and that my Notice of Approval (Form I-797) has been sent in a different envelope. However, the Notice of Approval (I-797) never reached us. Later we found that the letter bounced back to INS.

Is there anyone how experienced similar problems?

Is there a way other than applying I-824, which currently takes 120-185 days to process?

I appreciate any kind of response!!
 
just a suggestion..

You already have the letter from the INS saying that the COS has been approved, right? Send a copy of that letter and a cover letter to the INS saying that you have not yet received the approval notice. Request another copy and mention the mailing address.

If the COS was applied through the student immigration services of the university, you may have to ask them to do this.

You could try talking to the INS during working hours.. they could direct you better...
 
H4 to F1

I am planning to apply for COS H4 to F1. I have already started school last sem but planning to do on-campus job next sem. What reasons should i give for COS from H4 to F1? Please advise. Thanks.
 
Hi.. does anybody know if it is possible to travel while in the process of applying for a status change from H4 to F1.. and is it possible to attend school while the I-539 application is in process.

When did u apply ?

I think it should be the same thing. But sometime soon you have to get the 797. I am surprised that they did not enclose it in the same envelop.

When did u actually apply and how long did it actually take to get the approval.
