H4 to B1

My wife has an H4 Visa till OCT 2008. But I have not yet travelled to US on my H1-B. My wife needs to travel to US on business for her current working company for which she is going for a B-1 stamping.
1. Will her H4 get cancelled in the Consulate ?
2. If not cancelled in consulate, will her H4 gets cancelled at the port of entry if she choose enter US on her B-1.
I plan to reach US before my wife travels on her B-1. After she finishes her business assignment she would like to return to India, and then join me in US permanently.

As soon as she stamped B1 her H4 will Cancelled. A person can have only
one status at a time.

Once she finishes her business travel, then she will have to stamp again
for H4.

Easy way is to travel on H4 for her business. But her company may have
to allow her. so that she will keep the status

1. If the visa type is different, it should not be cancelled, but if she is unlucky, H4 might be cancelled, It sometimes happens at consulate.
2. I have never heard visa was cancelled at POE.
