H4 Status Expires end of the month

My husband's H1 and my H4 status expires on 31st of this month. His company has given for an H1 extension and it's still not approved. So they are waiting to get his H1 extended before they apply for my H4 extension.

1) Can I stay in US if I have applied for an extension after 31st?
2) Would I have to return to home country?

Please advice!!!

you should not wait for your husband's H1 approval, you must apply your H4 extn along with your husband's H1. Now it is not late, apply right away your H4 extn. You can apply your self you no need your husband's company permission or his company atttorney to do this one.

Where or How do I apply for my H4 extension?
Will they not require my husband's extended H1 to approve mine.
