H4 status ???after the primary applicant went on EAD ????

What will happen to people who are on EAD and the primary applicant uses it but dependant does not?
Will dependant still be on H4 status?

What if the primary applicant who is on EAD also changed job will that stil effects depensdants H4 status???

Please respond!!!

My understanding is that H4 is dependent on H1. So once you use EAD you are no more in non-immigrant status and hence the dependent is not in H4.

But if you have applied for AOS for the dependent(s) they are in "adjustment pending" status and hence OK. But to work or travel they need EAD and AP.

Caution: Please do not travel without AP!!!!

How to switch from H1 to EAD. Is it automatic or is there form need to be filled. Appreciate your comments. Thanks.

If you already have an EAD and your H1 is expiring then simply tell the employer that you got an EAD and they can simply put you on EAD. All employer be needing is a copy of your EAD so that they can update your file, which is called I-9 form and you will be all set.
