H4 stamping

I have a valid H1B till Dec2,2002 and I am getting married in sept2002 in India.
Will there be a problem for getting H4 for my wife ?
I have used less than 3 years of my H1 period but my company may not file the extension because I have the EAD and they want me to use that.

Is there any minimum valid period before the current Hi expires and the H4 can be stamped ?
Can someone help ?

No

As long as you are not a candidate for administrative processing (suspect educational quals, security concerns) h4 processing should complete within a week from applying with proper documents.
While coming in tell POE officer that you will extend h4 along with H1 extension by employer. You will have to file 485 , AP and EAD for your wife as soon as you enter US. So be prepared with documentation and sufficient time to do medicals etc.
