H4 Stamping + TTS Drop facility!

Is it advisable to go for H4 visa thru a Travel agent or it is safe to do it thru the Drop facility directly?. Has anybody recently stamped H4 from Chennai, and I was wondering how many days it takes to get the passport back. I am planning to apply for an H4 for my Wife in June.

When I did it - I dropped it with TTS on Wednesday and Got back the Passport on the following Friday

if you are applying for H4 for first time i dont think Drop box will work , Your wife will have to apply herself at embassy . Happend to one of my friend at Delhi.

Even for the first time, It has to be drop box in chennai. check for information at http://madras.sphynx.com. Even if you submit to travel agent, they submit it thru drop box.

H4 visa stamping Chennai

Hi,
Anybody did H4 stamping recently at Chennai consulate? Under the mardas.spynx.com FAQ says we need to produce photos of place of work, directions to the employer\'s place etc.. Any advice.. Can somebody post all the required documents to apply an H4 visa. I\'ll have very limited days in India after my marriage, so I just want to make sure I\'m carrying all the required documents.
I thought I need to file my Employment verification letter also. But
http://www.path2usa.com/H4doc.htm doesn\'t mention anything about that.

Also how many days it is taking now a days to get H4 visa?
