H4 stamping question -- Please help

I came to US for the first time in Jan 2004 (end of Jan) and I got my social security card by the end of March and started working from May. My W2 for 2004 showed about 30k which is obviously less than my LCA.

I got married recently and my wife attended consulate for H4.
Got the query to explain why I was under paid during 2004. I am working continuously since May 2004 to till date.

Has anybody has the same query and if so how did you answer it.

Any help is really appreciated.

------------ Get the letter from employer who did not pay and violated H1 regulation. Employer has to explain on letter why he did not pay and then send the letter to your spouse, or go to company lawyer and he should draft the letter after he talks to employer. I read some post that one person was asked same for his next H1B stamping in Chennai US consulate and that person said that he filed a complaint with DOL to recover the past wages and showed the response from DOL that his complaint is received by DOL he got the visa stamp. Bench or Table is not allowed on H1
I am working continuously since May 2004 to till date.

Has anybody has the same query and if so how did you answer it.
