Gurus... please help

I'm currently working in USA on H1B. I had changed my employer last year. The H1 was transferred to the new company and received the approval notice I-797. But the visa stamped in my passport is of the old employer and that is valid until mid 2005.

I'm planning to get married in May from India. So the question is do I need to get the new employer's H1 stamped in my passport in order to apply for H4 for my spouse? or does the copy of new H1 approval (I-797) be sufficient?

Thanks

----- 1 your spouse needs your recent H1 approval notice and she will get H4 till your H1 approval notice ( read the threads what more documents you need to send her or to provide her for H4 stamping in particular consulate)
2 your H1 Visa stamp is valid till 2005 and you can enter with valid Visa stamp based on past employer H1 Visa stamp and you MUST show your passport Visa stamp AND new H1 approval notice to POE inspector when you enter US , Inspector is supposed to give you I-94 till your Recent H1 approval expiry date, check your I-94 date when officer gives you. If he gives till H1 Visa stamp point out the mistake if he does not agree ask for the supervisor and he will give you I-94 till your H1 approval notice (keep the copy of original H1 notice with you for future and the I-94 copy both sides that you will surrender when you go out of US. Always keep the copies with you
