Currently I am working with company A and have renewed H-1 visa (and dependant H-4) visa until 2007. I am planning to change employer (company B) who will apply for my new H-1. The new employer's attorney is also asking us to file for renewal of H-4. It is my understanding that if the dependant has a valid H-4, he/she does not have to re-apply based on H-1 holders new job. The H-4 is dependant on H-1 and not on the company B. Can anybody give opinion based on their knowledge. Thanks.
