H4 interview after H1 stamping

Hi,

I work in an Indian IT company XYZ and am deputed to US on a project. I recently got my H1B visa stamped and returned to US. Now project has ended and my company is not able to find a project for me.
My husband is also working in US for an American company on H1B visa.

Since my company is sending me back to India and they do not have a visibility for finding a project for some months, I intend to return to US on a H4 dependent visa.

Here are my questions -

1) After my H4 visa stamping, will the original H1 visa get cancelled. I do not want to lose this H1B visa as I want to continue working on a project as soon as my company finds a project for me.

2) If I return to US on H4 visa, can i start working for a different employer at a later point of time? If yes, how?

3) In case I want to change my status from H1 to H4 without returning to India. What is the procedure for this and similary the procedure if I want to change my status back to H1 from H4 at a later point of time.

--------------------If you wish you can stay in US, as your spouse is H1 status in US. You can file H1 to H4 change of status in US with USCIS and you will get H4 approval notice and I-94 attached with H4 COS approval notice till your spouse H1 validity.
Here are my questions -

1) After my H4 visa stamping, will the original H1 visa get cancelled.
--------------if you go to consulate to get H4 visa stamp then they will stamp H4 visa and Cancel H1 visa stamp.

I do not want to lose this H1B visa as I want to continue working on a project as soon as my company finds a project for me.

2) If I return to US on H4 visa, can i start working for a different employer at a later point of time? If yes, how?
---------------if you enter with H4 visa then on H4 you cant work but new employer can file H4 to H1 change of status in US. once COS gets approved you can work .
3) In case I want to change my status from H1 to H4 without returning to India. What is the procedure for this and similary the procedure if I want to change my status back to H1 from H4 at a later point of time.
