hi Gurus,

My h4 - h1b is approved with start date of Jan 12.

But due to my health reasons in the family I can not join employer before Feb 28. Employer is fine with the absence.

But I would like to know is there any visa status problem with this.

Do I need to join company and then take leave.
Or I should just delay joining but is it equivalent of going out of status.

Please suggest I will appreciate your help.

regards,
Nano.

The benefit allowed to US citizen or LPR should be available to H1 holder too.
If company said it is fine to leave for a month or so, especially health issue, I don't think it will be a serious problem.

thanks,
Actually my i am on H4 and H1 got appeoved.
so Can I delay joining compnay by 2 months (after date of approval on H1b).
Please suggest

There are a lot of folks who got laid-off and could not find job for 2 months. Most of them
eventually landed on employment with H1.
2 months absence(no pay check) is not serious unless you tried to transfer H1 very soon.
if you were worried, you can switch to H4, but I don't see much necessity.
