H4 - H1 - Total years stay

I came on H4 in 2002 june and converted to H1 in aug 2003. Now what is my total years of stay in US. Can i stay on (H4 + H1) total 6 years or is it dependent on my husband H1 expiry date which is expiring in 2006.

abhi2004, if you are maintaining valid h1 status, you will have 6 years from the time you entered on h4.

So after my husband completes his H1 6 years stay , can he stay on my H4 as i can stay till 2009 or because he competed 6yrs on H1 should he leave.

abhi, if your husband completes 6 years on his h1, he cannot convert to h4 and stay beyond 6 years, unless his green card labor certification process is pending for more than a year or he has filed for I-485 stage of green card processing.
