H4-H1-H4 revalidation

Hi Jim,Jaxen and other gurus ..Please help....

My wife was on H4 status from Aug'99 till July'2001 , Her employer applied for H1 and we received it after 8 months of applying, in jan'2002. We immediately changed the status from H1 to H4 and we got the approval notice last month i.e Aug'02.
Her visa on the passport has expired in feb'02 , Due to the transfer process(H1-H4) we didn't send her passport for revalidation to St.loius.

Can we send her passport for revalidation now with the new H4 approval ? We don't have any paystubs for the 7 month period she was on H1....

If she has to go to India for revalidation , what are the chances of getting her visa revalidated..... Please let me know.

And also one more big hurdle in going to India is my visa is also not revalidated since more than a year. (Consulate in India for revalidation would be madras)

Please advise...

why did you apply for a h1 to h4? You always have the option of not taking h1 and continue with h4...

St. Louis revalidation might not be possible since the previous visa held was h1 (especially from Feb 02 till Aug 02). However what is the effective date of the h4 approval? If it is close to feb you are ok.
Make sure that the dates are documented and since she did not get any pay, try to minimize days in h1 as much as possible.

Although chennai insists on a corraborative h1 stamp, If you give proof that the primary could not travel, h4 stamp should be granted.
