H4 filed untimely!

Hi,
My wife's H4 extension has been applied 20 days after our I-94 expiration date. And I got my H1 approval without I-94 attached to it. We are planing to go to India and get our H1 and H4 visas stamped. Does this untimely H4 extension filing going to affect her H4 stamping? Does any body gone thru this kind of situation and returned to US safely? I would appreciate if any body could share their experiances, suggestions on this. Thanks
 
If your i94 has expired then you are in trouble.(as you did not get a new one with the H1B).
Leave usa immediately to get the new i94.
