H4 extension and H4 to H1 conversion - parallel

Hi,
I am on H4 visa and my I-94 status expires on october 17th,2006. An extension has been filed by my husband's employer on Aug 25th,2006. I just received its receipt on Sep 11. Now, my prospective employer(academic research center) has accepted to file H1B visa for me.

My question is,
1. Is there a necessity that I have to get my H1B before the expiry date on my I-94?
2. Also, Can both H4 extension and H4-H1 conversion process occur concurrently?
3. Will this cause any complication that I don't see?

Any help would be highly appreciated.

2. Also, Can both H4 extension and H4-H1 conversion process occur concurrently? YES, that is only way you will be status until H1 will be effective Oct 1, 2007(non profit cases) 3. Will this cause any complication that I don't see? No
