H4 appointment dates at Mumbai Consulate

I am checking the site https://www.vfs-usa.co.in/home.aspx for H4 spousal appointment dates for my fiance at the Mumbai consulate.

I am looking for dates in Jan 2007 but none are available. I see a lot of dates in Nov 2006 and Dec 2006 but none after that... I know dates open and close and I have to keep checking.

Does anyone know if there is a pattern in the dates becoming available and not available? Is there a reasonable chance that I can get a date in January if I wait for some time?

If I book an earlier date like in December 2006 can I postpone my appointment date once a date in January 2007 opens up? How many times could I postpone?

Is there any other way to find out more information on visa appointment date availability?

I can see 3 dates in January available in Delhi...But no dates in January in any other consulates...I am also looking for a date in January..I am hoping that they havent opened up the seats from jan onwards...
Regarding rescheduling, I think you can reschedule it 2 times...
plz let me know if you have more info on January interview dates...

I am looking only in Mumbai because fiance is in Maharashtra... and my understanding is that we can apply only based on state of past 6 months residence, so I am not looking at other consulates... but I am not sure...

I was tracking and till Oct 10th I saw plenty of dates in Jan/Feb 2007 but none now
