H3 Visa - I 94 extension

I need some information for my friends who are on H3 visa and would greatly appreciate if you can provide me some direction. Below is a detailed explanation of the scenario.



Purpose: Workers compensation training (9 months)
Visa type : H3
Issued date: 10AUG2005
Expiration date: 01MAY2006
Annotation: Cambridge

I-94, Los angeles :
Issued on Aug30-2005
Valid till May11-2006

The immigration attorney has applied for I-94 extension on first week of april and the period for extensions is still not disclosed with anyone.

The questions are,

1> How much time it takes for an I-94 extension process in USCIS
2> If we get extension only on I-94, can we go back to india and come back without a valid visa
3> If we try to get any other job, with different employer for different Line of business, can our visa be converted to H1B. if yes, can we process our visa by our own as an individual.

2) unless you have valid H3 status as well as valid H3 stamp, you can not enter.
3) If you did not complete 2 years, it is probably possible to change status.
NO you can not process by yourself. H1 needs sponser and sponser needs to process it.
