Hello,

Is it safe to work on EAD without a valid H1B ?

My H1B expires in two weeks and planning to use EAD.

Do I need to go for H1B extension ?

Please shed some light.

It is better to maintain H1 status, if due to any reason I-140 denied then EAD, AP, I-485 all will be denied and if you use EAD you are not on H1 status. If I am in your situation I will file H1 extension before I-94 or H1 expiry date

Better go for H1 extension it is much safer to be on H1

rest is up to you it is not MUSt that you should file H1 extension as your I-140 is approved
