Hello All,

I have a few questions regarding the H1B Visa.

1. I work in IT, would I be able to qualify for this visa?

2. If i get a job with a prospective employer, will i be able to reside on a permanent basis?

3. During the stay on the H1B Visa, is it possible to apply for a Green Card?

4. Any advice on how to go about looking for a job with a prospective employer?

5. The employer i work for in the UK has offices in the US, would i be able to live there on a permanent basis if i transfered?

P.S. I live in the UK, not sure if this has any bearing to the application.

2. If i get a job with a prospective employer, will i be able to reside on a permanent basis?
-------------- If you are eligible for H1 and US Employer has job for you then US employer has to file H1 petition with USCIS. once Petition gets approved then only you get VISA stamp from US embassy/Consulate(US embassy/Consulate can also reject the Visa)
3. During the stay on the H1B Visa, is it possible to apply for a Green Card
--------------It depends on employer and employer can file for GC
4. Any advice on how to go about looking for a job with a prospective employer?

--------------- one can only stay on permanent basis after one gets GC or US Citizenship, FYI nothing in this world is Permanent.
