H1b Visa

I need some inputs about my plan to go to India and get my H1B stamped from New Delhi Consulate. I came to US in 2000 on L1 visa and then changed my job and got H1B approved in 2002. Since then I have not gone to India or any where else hence do not have H1B stamped on my passport. Last year I got my H1B extension for another three year which is valid up to 2008. My company has already filed for the labor certification in 2004 for my GC.I have few questions:

1) Is it advisable to go to India and get H1B stamped or should I go to Mexico?

2) Would I face any problem in getting my H1B stamped? I have L1A visa stamped on my passport for the two years I was on L1A.

3) What paper should I carry for the interview?

Please give your frank and genuine opinion.

1) If you have all your documents in order, never been out of status, not involved in any unlawfully activity it does not matter where you go for stamping. I have seen people getting stamped in India and people getting 221Gs in Canada and Mexico. Going to home country is always good idea, if you are stuck atleast you are in your house.

2) I am not sure why this would be a problem. You should be fine.

3) http://www.vfs-usa.co.in/ This site has all information about documents required and how to get stamped in India.

Thank you !!!!

Thanks for your moral boosting reply. No, I have never been out of status and have all the papers like W2, TAX Returns, I-94 of L1 and H1B, Valid Passport, etc. You are right it is always good to go to your home country.
