H1B visa validity for entry

I would like to know how long the visa stamped on my passport should be valid when entering the US.

My H1B stamped on passport expires 11/30/2006. If I go to India on vacation during september 2006, will I be able to enter US with same visa stamping? What is the minimum validity period to enter?

Technically, as long as visa is valid, you should be able to enter. My H1 expiration was June a few years ago, and I traveled back to the US end of April, no problem.
If you could file H1 extension before you go on vacation, you can carry receipt to show it at POE, but I guess it is not necessary.
