I have a question and would really appreciate if you could clarify it. I am working for a company named “A” and I have an approved H1B from the same company. I have also got my visa stamped.
A few months back my company merged with a company named “B” and they are currently doing a name change to my H1B.
Meanwhile I will be getting married in the month of July and I have booked an appointment with the Consulate in India for my wife with the I797 sponsored by company A. What should I do now?
Assuming the H1B sponsored by company B is approved before July, should I use the new Company B sponsored I797 or the old (company A) sponsored I797 for my wife?
In any case, I will not be able to get it stamped in my passport when I go to India in July because the consulate does not have interview vacancy then. Please let me know the best way to approach the problem.
