Has anyone had a recent experience of getting their US H1B visa stamped in Paris, France? I am an Indian citizen and this is not my first stamping (I have had my visa stamped 2 times before in Canada). Is this going to be an issue?

If your visit to paris is tourism then there may be an issue-i don't know, but i am in paris for three months work visit and i have been in H1B for few years but this is my first H1B visa stamping -there were no issues, in fact i was asked only two questions, 1) What is your research work on? 2) is this only daughter you have? (My 5 years old daughter was with me, visa officer had few words with my daughter about her paris trip). I provided only latest I-797 approval notice (photocopy) and passport, for my wife only passport (H4), a chronopost envelope and fees, nothing else. Good thing for me was, Children allowed inside even if they do not have/require/appear for/ visa.

Hi there,

I am an Indian citizen and I currently work full-time for a global manufacturing company. I will be on a business trip in France for a week in October. I plan to go to France a week earlier and get my H1b visa stamped in Paris. This is my 2nd H1b visa stamp and my first experience was in Ciudad Juarez, MX in 2008. I have changed my employer 6 months ago and I can't stop wondering whether Paris is a safe option or is it better to go to India and get the stamping done there. Appreciate your responses.

Cheers,
pavbs

Does the US consulate in Paris entertain applications from people who are not residents of France? That is the question you need to ask the consulate before you get there.

I can't stop wondering whether Paris is a safe option or is it better to go to India and get the stamping done there.
