I have been reading expereinces on this thread about visit to different consulates to get H1B visa stamped and it is really very nerve wrecking. I would also like to know from your expirence, whether I should go to New Delhi for getting my H1B visa stamped or not. I came to US on L1A visa and after two years changed to H1B. It been more then three years , I am H1B and my second renewal has already been approved.I have L1A visa stamped on my passport, but do not have any H1B stamped. I am planning to visit India this summer and want to get the visa stamped from New Delhi consulate.
1) I read from different members about additional administrative processing being done. What is that for and would I have to go through it as well?
2) Is it safe to go to India to get the visa stamped rather than going to Canada or Mexico?
3) I have all the paper works like, W2, Tax Returns, I-129, I-797, I-94 etc.
4) Do I need to carry any other paper work which would make it easier for me to get the visa stamped?
