H1B Visa stamp with different names

Hello all,

I got a H1B Visa approval today, My attorney told me to use middle name when filing for H1B visa as I had once used that in a transcript. In my passport I do not use any middle name, just first name and last name. Will there be a problem in stamping the passport at the consulat office in India. Please help.

Thanks for the reply. Has any body else gone through this experience, will an Affidavit help in this case.
 
you have to use the name in your passport, always, no exceptions. Maybe you can send a name correction petition later.

If you dont have a middle name in the passport than it means you dont have a middle name.

Can the Visa stamping be rejected on this basis? Attorney said Name change will take many months. He said it should be OK, as they will go by name mentioned in Passport. I don't believe him. Please advise.

I just called INS office, they said it will not be a problem as first name & last name matches. Lets see how it goes.
