Hi,
I have already done that the last time.
The problem is that my H1 notice is already valid into 2002.
The Visa stamp is expiring in May 2001 and when i travelled abroad and
got back into the US in 2000, the I-94 was limited to the visa stamp.
So i have to file with the INS for a new I-94. With the new notice, i have to
send it to DC and get the stamp. Now in all, it takes about 6 weeks with
the INS and about 6-8 weeks with the office in DC. Now the 6-8 weeks,
you will be without the passport. So in all, the wait will be about 4 months.
To overcome this, if i just go to Canada and get it stamped and come
back, i will hit to fruits with one stone. So thats the issue.
