I have renewed my H1B visa for three years from 1/1/05-31/12/07 and I am going to be leaving the US in May for the first time since my renewal was approved. I understand that to get back in to the US I have to get a new visa in my passport and to do this I have to make an appointment with a US Consulate outside of the US. I have done this and have an appointment at the London embassy on May 8. I wondered if I needed to file an I-824 “Application for action on an approved application or petition” in order to request that the US consulate in London be notified of my I-129 approval or if I can just take my I-129 and that will suffice.
