H1b visa: recapturing unused time?

I used to work on an H1b visa. After the 6 years were over, I was far along the Green Card process that I was able to extend the visa for another year. One month later (with 11 months remaining on the visa) I quit my job. I would now like to reapply for an H1b after having been outside the country for over 1 year. My question is: Is there a way to recapture the unused 11 months from my old visa (different employer) or is that unused time expired? If this time can be recaptured, can I apply for it and start working anytime or do I still have to go through the quota and the April 1 deadline?

Recapture is possible if you did not spend max period of stay with H1, which is 6 years. I don't think you can recapture 11 months which was allowed after 6 years.
