Hello all,
I recently read an article that special work visa are issued to australian IT professionals (E-3 visa). With the special work visa they don't have to wait until Oct 05 fiscal year begins or don't have to compete with rest of the countries for the available H1B 65000 visa quota per year.
Is there any special scheme like that for british citizens?
I'm an british citizen and IT professional with 10+ yrs of experience and planning to do contracting work in the US for couple of years or so and then return back to UK.
I would like to work as an independent contractor in US as software architect/lead developer/consultant and I can't find any information how I can work independly without having to work for a single company. I can't be bothered to work for someone who will put me on a bench until I get a job or for someone who will charge the clients on a hourly basis and I get paid monthly etc.
I can take care of my own flight tickets, expenses, accomdation, and support myself without having to depend on anyone. All I want is a recruitment agency or company or someone to sponsor my H1B visa for a annual fee or a monthly fee and I get to manage everything myself. Have anyone of you done anything like this before?
Could you share your experience please. Any advice or suggestions?
