H1B Visa extension

I am approaching my H1B visa 6 yrs limit in the next 3 months. I have not applied for Green Card yet. However, my wife has got an approved I-140 and is waiting due retrogression. She has not filed I-485 yet.
Can I get extension on my visa based on her I-140? Or should I apply for Green Card immediately.

Any advice is highly appreciated.
 
you need your I-140 to extend your H1. The best you can do is filing PERM now and pray that I-140 will be approved before H1 expiration.
