H1B Transfer: No WAC number or Receipt from USCIS

Hi,

This is for a friend.

After losing his job, he applied for H1B Transfer through an indian consulting firm. The firm said they have applied for the H1B transfer on premium processing, but have not given any WAC number or receipt number. We have a FedEx tracking number that shows that the USCIS received the documents on Feb 1.

It has been 15 days now and my friend is really worried. The immigration person with the consulting company says that sometimes they don't get the WAC number or Receipt notice. The only way to get the WAC number is to contact the bank and see if USCIS encashed the checks. When USCIS encashes the check, they write the WAC number at the back of the check.

Is this true that USCIS does not issue the WAC number at certain times..? Any responses would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Interesting Case

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

One of known person working for comp A got fired on Jan 19th 2007 and employer threatned to cancel / revoke the H1b.

Catch hold of a sponser with 2 months paystub applied for H1b transfer premium process on 29th January. to Vermont lock box.

papers were forwarded to CA premimum processing center on 6th Feb and receipt details came through e-mail, physical recipt yet to come.

Through e-mail : On 9th Feb the H1 got approved. Approval notice received on 2/12/2007. (Receipt notice never reached but approval notice arrived.)

Even the employer taken initiative to revoke the H1b, the papers have not reached or taken for process by USCIS.
