H1B transfer in the same university?

I am now working in the department of mechanical engineering in one university and got my H1B approved recently. But from the next month, I will work in the medical imaging center in the same university. The job title is the same (Post-doctoral Fellow), and salary in the new department will be higher.

Do I need H1B transfer? I do not like H1B transfer since I hate the lengthy processing. I can claim that I am working in the similar area(Biomedical area). But the "similar" is very flexible. I can say my similarity is 20% if given a range from 0% to 100%.

Please provide some suggestion!

Employer is same, post is same, so responsibilities are same.
Quit your home country silo mentality of cubby holing people based on their educational quals. here in america a manager is a manager no matter what industry and a PDF is a PDF as long as the eligibilty requirements are the same...
