H1B transfer applied - But existing H1B and I-94 expiring - Please help

I'm working for Comp A. and want to move to another comp B. Comp B filed my H1B transfer on regular processing (definitely it will not be known till last week of Dec). But my existing H1B(with Comp A) and I-94 are expiring this month end. And I cant join in my new comp B till 2nd week of Dec(as new project is starting on 2nd week of dec).

now my questions/concerns are
1) Am I in status after this month end ? or should I go out of this country and be back in 2nd week ?

2) I know I definitely can not work for comp A after this month. Can I simply wait for 2 weeks and then start new job ?

any helpful info or guidance in this regarding is highly appreciated.

It is advisable to apply new petition for your H1 b renewal through current company

If comp B h1 takes more time to renew, you may not granted COS instead you will be given only new H1.

If it is so you may have to go out of USA and re enter .

is H1 Transfer a COS ?

Well current extending with current emp is out of scope
I asked new emp to do it in premimum process. Hopefully I get it bit earlier. but not before I-94 or current H1B expiry.

I heard that as long as there is an extension/tranfer is filed.. we can stay in US(in legal status). isn't this valid if we are not working for the new comp ?

also, is H1B tranfer with extension is COS ? I'm not chaning VISA type right.. its just employer change with extension. pls explain..
