Hi
I am now in USA and I have expired H1 visa but I already applied for extention before the expiration my visa.
I got accepted in the school and I want to change my status into F1 as soon as possible.
my question is , can I apply to change into F1 while my H1 extention is pending and do they consider that I applied to extend my visa before my H1 was expired.
In case the INS refused to extend my H1 what should I do, is there anyway to apply for F1 without leaving the states.

Yes, you can apply H1 to F1 while H1 extn is already pending. But you must give all the references of pending H1 extn with F1 COS application.
