I am in F1 right now, plannning to work for some years and then would like to go to f1 again for my higher studies. I would like to know how easy it is to go form H1B to F1?, please help!!

It is very easy to change from H1 to F1 to H1 within US . If you are going out to of US for stamping for F1, depends on your country of citizenship you may face problem , some time your F1 may get rejected.

Hi,
I am in a similar situation. I changed from H1 to F1. Now I am going to India for F1 stamping. I have a job offer and the employer is willing to sponsor H1. Is it possible for that employer to transfer my old H1 and I can go for H1 stamping while I am in India?

came to US on H1 - Sep 2003
Transfered to F1 - Sep 2005

The initial 3 year for H1 is already over.

Any reply is appreciated.

Now you are in F1 status, yur h1 statusis no more valid after getting your F1.

You need to apply a fresh H1 which will not come under any quota.

Thanks for the information. Let me understand this, I wont come under any quota (meaning I dont have to wait for April to apply for H1 to start working in October) and go ahead and ask the employer to file for H1 (new H1, but points to the old one).

Am I right? Also, the employer would be able to do that even if I am in India right?

Thanks for the great info.

Yes, your assumptions are correct.
