H1B status expire if not at work?

I asked this question a few times but not got a concludent answer:

I am on H1B valid until Oct 2008 but I have been living outside US for the past 4 months. I indend to return to US and take my old job back. I am wondering if I will have any problems entering US.

Passport is OK otherwise, I have valid visa stamp on it.

No problem at all. If the POE officer verifies your old employer where you are going to work now, they must confirm your job position is vacant.

If they say you are no more neded you will be deported.

Kind of hard to deport me since I am not in the US - I am in a longer vacation - six months so far. Old employer will not report my job vacant as they want me to return, eventually.

Anyway, my questions are:
1 Is there a way for the CIS to verify my presence at work based on the checks or other documents and invalidate my visa?
2 Would it be an issue when I enter US? THey know when I left (last August), will see when I enter us (March 2007) and will question me why I was not at work for 8 months?
