H1b stamping question

Hello all,


If someone is here with business visa who gets converted to get H1-B visa. Where can he/she can get his passport stamped.

Does he/she have to go to their home country?
Or can he/she can get it stamped in either canada/mexoco?

Pls reply. One of my friend needs this info. thanks.
 
Lawyer can send yr passport for stamping to Washigton DC office or he can go to home country for stamping.
 
He has to go and stamp in his home country or other like canada, mexico. In USA is not possible. Coz, His Visa is changing Business to H1B. If same visa already stamped then we can submit in US.
 
What india-usa said is correct. One can re-validate visa in USA in the same visa category, but not B2(B1) to H1B.
One has to go to Home country or third country like Canada or Mexico. But the problem with Canada/Mexico is if visa is denied, you can not come back to USA.
