HI,
I came from India on L2 and will be getting my H1 soon. Is it advisable to go to Mexico and get my H1 stamped. The constraints are
-> Its L2 to H1 conversion, so first time stamping
-> When i filed for L2 i had mentioned i had no intention of working but i will have 1.5-2 months experience on L2. Will this create a problem?
Someone please help me.

Hi,
I am in the same boat, came to US on L2 and got H1 in Oct2006.
Kindly help me and let me know if you got any information regarding stamping in these circumstances. I am working since Oct2006 now and going to India for stamping.

Thanks,

1.5 to 2 months on experience on L2 may cause a problem ..better not to show it ..it is anyway insignificant. Working on dependent visa is illegal !!! and ofcourse you cannot receive any salary also or a paystub

i hear conversion cases it may be better to stamp in mexico/canada..Even India should be fine if there is clean paperwork , sponsoring company is good.
