i just changed jobs and my new H1 should arrive in December. What do u mean by valid I94? The I-94 that was stapled to my passport when I came here has same date as my first H1 stamp (apr 2006).

--- it means your I-94 is expired. did you or your employer file H1 extension BEFORE I-94 expiry date???
come to US on date.... on H1 status and got I-94 valid till..
filed H1 extension on date.....
why dont you provide your case details?
