H1B Stamping Expiry

Hello,

My H1B visa stamp expires on Feb4, 2007; but my current I-797 is valid till 2009.

I will be returing from my India visit on Jan 18, 2007. At that time, the expiry date of my visa stamp will be barely 2-3 weeks.

Some people have advised me to get my visa restamped before my arrival to India, but I am afraid its too late to get an appointment for that now.

Can anyone advise if it is safe to arrive with the visa-stamp expiry date about 15 days away. Thanks for your help in advance.

It is absolutely safe. Even if you arrived today and today is the expiration day of your visa it is safe. Just make sure that your passport is not expired by then

Thanks for replying. I was also thinking along the same lines; but some people just wanted me to be "overcautious". Thank you again for your imput.
