Hi,

My H1B is with company(A) and currently I am on company(A)'s payroll. and I filed I-140(through substitute labor) with other company(B) as a future employee.

I am planning to go for stamping with Company(A)'s H1B approval.
On DS-156 I have to answer "Yes" along with the Employer's name(i.e company(B) name) for question 36) Has Anyone Ever Filed an Immigrant Visa petition on your behalf?

Does it cause any trouble in my stamping as I am working for one company and GC through other company. If consular officer asks any details about I-140 filing...Do I need to show any details of it..??

Has anyone gone through this situation?
Please share your experiences.

Thanks,
Chinnu

It seems nobody had gone for visa stamping..whose I-140 is filed/approved from the new employer(future employer)

Anybody please share your experience.

As per the meaning of question #36, the answer should be yes. Though I never had this situation, I would tell the truth. FYI - I recently attended H-1B re-validation (8th year) interview at U.S. Consulate Kolkata, India. The Visa Officer verbally asked me about the GC but did not ask for any documents. Although my I-140 is pending at NSC, I carried the ETA750 LC approval with me. To be on the safe side, please ask your GC sponsor a copy of the I-140 filing details.
