H1B stamping based on I-140 approval

Hello all,

I have an appointment for my 7th year H1B extension in Ottawa.

Here is my status.
My labor is approved. I-140 is also approved. I have got 3 year H1B extension. I cannot file 1-485 until my PD become current.

Here is my question.
I heard that we will get only 1 year extension (stamping) in the passport even if we have approved H1B which is valid for 3 years. This rule is only for the people who got 3 years extension (1-797) based on their I-140 approval. Not for regular H1B extension.

If anyone has similar experience please let me know.

----------------- where did you heard that???? you will get 3 year Visa stamp as you have H1 approval for 3 years.
If anyone has similar experience please let me know.
