My case is F1-OPT-H4-H1b. Currently i am on pending 485 with approved EAD & AP ( February 2004 - Applied thru my wife ).
I got my H1b approval on January 2nd 2004.
I have to visit Canada thru work next month. Will be scheduling an appt with Toronto Consulate (www.nvars.com ).
My question is regarding the risk involved in doing so. I think my case is pretty straight forward but are there any opinions otherwise ? Have always maintained status.
From your experience, can you guys please let me know of the things that i should be careful about.

Thank you in advance.

If you had seceured your latest degree from US then toronto is not a problem. For back up take AP.

My experience at Toronto US consulate

I was on F1 and OPT (Biotech) from INDIA. I got H1 from a Research Non Profit Organization.

Mean while, I got my Canadian PR, landed recently in Toronto
and took an appointment for H1 B stamping.

At the interview everything went well, they took index finger prints and told me that it takes 3-4 weeks for clearence from Washington DC.

Any body experienced the same situation @ Toronto US Consulate, If so how many days they took to stamp H1?

It seems my profession is listed in TAL, TEchnology ALert list.

I have submitted all required documentation, Am I short of some thing which i overlooked?

When I took the apointment over phone they told me that its a matter of 2-3 days for clearance after taking finger prints.
But when I went to consulate in person its 3-4 weeks for stamping.

I am working now and took only a week off but Its tough for me to afford 3-4 weeks off

I am little bit concerned about the time they take.

I appreciate if any body can share info with similar situation
