H1b rpending, EAD in hand, travel abroad, US embassy

Hello,

My original H1b has expired and I currently have a pending H1b extension (university) since April but have to travel abroad in 2 weeks ( traditional wedding). I have received my EAD card through my civil mariage ( AP is pending).

I have made an appointment at the US embassy. Can I apply for an H1 based on my EAD card and letter of employment? Should I apply for a different visa?

1 Where are you at this time? in US or out of US?
2 if you are in US then your H1 Extension is pending and NOT approved and if you go out you will not get H1 Visa without H1 Extension approval notice.
3 You cannot apply H1 Visa just with EAD card. you need H1 Extension approval notice.
4 You dont have approved AP in hand, if you go out and want to enter with AP then you need to have approved AP in hand before you depart US.
