Hi,
My wife is currently pursuing her CPA. We had applied for her H1 for an accounting position through a consulting firm. We have received a RFE for her H1 application.
Her H1 was applied with the job title as "accountant and auditor".
The RFE states "the prospective employee's qualifications appear to be based on an occupation that may require a license for an individual to fully perform the duties of the occupation. Please submit the license or evidence from the appropriate licensing authority that no license is required."
I have the following doubts,
1> What does "appropriate licensing authority" mean? Does it mean the state board of accountancy of the state from which the H1 was applied?
2> Do state boards of accountancy provide such letters?
We are very much concerned and would appreciate any help/ advice from other members who have faced similar kind of RFEs. Any tips on responding to such RFE will be very helpful.
