Amidst the docs required for H1B Stamping ( www.amcits.com), i t states

" Appointment should be made ten days prior to the validity date on the I-797 or after the validity date has passed. "

Last year, when I had been to Ottawa for my 7th year H1B stamping, the validity of my I-797 was from I-797 is from 04/17/2004 to 04/17/2005. However I got my stamping on 26 Mar 04 w/o any issues/ questions...

Is this seriously enforced these days ??

Anyone who had their visas stamped more than 10 days prior to the validity date on new I-797, please share your experiences / throughts??

Also anyone who has been to Ottawa recently for the stamping, do you get your stamped passport back the same day ??

Thanks for your help ??
